Thank You for Smoking...

In light of my recent involvement with the media relations portion of the Smoke-Free Chicago campaign, I feel pressed to tell you about an excellent book...it's called Thank You for Smoking. It was handed down to me by a fellow PR co-worker who felt compelled to provide me with a novel that truly demonstrates the ultimate essence of pressure in the PR world. I'm slightly obsessed with this book and became estatic last week when said co-worker mentioned to me that she saw a trailer for the soon to be released movie about said book. I hate using "said" to re-reference any aforementioned anything, but it's Sunday and I feel like crossing some boundaries.

Check this trailer out: http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox_searchlight/thankyouforsmoking/

YES, I know it stats Adam Brody (also of the O.C.) but if he can pull off a performance comprable to his Ben McKenzie's in "Junebug" I'm all over it like a something over something...how's that for a lazy analogy?

Maybe I have some secret addiction to the O.C. and can only fulfill that desire via viewing these characters in a more "adult" role...I take that back, Hollywood is just getting smart on us and implanting these actors in any role possible to attract new viewers....ultimately to the O.C.

Enjoy. -Bott
